Pleasing To God

"… that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;"

Colossians 1:10 [NKJV]

The Apostle Paul's prayer was that we walk worthy of the Lord.

That does not mean that we are to live our lives in a way that deserves or earns something from the Lord.

Just the opposite…it means we are to live our lives in a way that the Lord deserves FROM US.

In order to live a life that pleases Him, we must be bear fruit.

That is, the seeds that we plant should be productive.

The testimony that we share.

The works that we do for our ministry.

Our everyday actions.

The way we talk.

The way we carry ourselves.

How we treat other people.

All of these things should be done in a way that brings glory to God.

This will allow other to see and to learn.

This is being fruitful.

This is pleasing to God.

"Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;  for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.."

1 Thessalonians 4:1-2 [NKJV]
