Works and Faith

For by grace you have been saved through faith,

and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,”

Ephesians 2:8[NKJV]

There is no debate that we are saved by God’s grace.

There is nothing we can do to deserve God’s favor.

It is a gift of God.

And it is through genuine faith that we believe and accept this salvation.

This genuine faith, however, is not a dead or empty faith.

It is alive and active.

And it is backed up by works.

Works are the evidence of our true faith.

They are the visible results of our salvation.

They are the fruit of our faith.

Our good works reveal our true faith to others.

How are you showing your true faith?

“You see then that a man is justified by works,

and not by faith only.

Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot

also justified by works when she received the messengers

and sent them out another way?

For as the body without the spirit is dead,

so faith without works is dead also.”

James 2:24-26 [NKJV]
