Fear of the Lord

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,

And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

Proverbs 9:10 [NKJV]

The fear of the Lord is not something terrifying.

It does not mean terror or something dreadful.

No, that kind of fear is not of God, but of the enemy.

The fear of the Lord is about reverence.

It is about honor.

It is about awe.

It about respect to The One who is The Most High.

It is a Holy fear and not a terror fear.

And what does God tell us that this fear will bring?

It will bring us into wisdom.

It will bring us into understanding.

We will know that to fear God is to love Him.

To fear God is to separate ourselves from evil.

To fear God is to follow His ways.

"And to man He said,

‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,

And to depart from evil is understanding.’"
